PRIVACY POLICY

The services available at this site and other sites operated by TLA Direct Limited (TLAD) and The Legal Alliance Limited (TLAL) (the "Sites") are owned and operated under license from TLA Group Limited, a company registered in England (Company Number: 06133244), whose registered office is at Pegasus House, 463A Glossop Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire S10 2QD (the "Company"). The Company, TLAD and TLAL together form the Group.

The Group respects the privacy and security of its users. The information you provide to the Group is used selectively by us to identify appropriate solicitors for your situation and put you in contact with the suitable solicitor(s). Some of the information will be passed on to the solicitors that we deem to be suitable so that they can contact you to progress your case. In order to demonstrate our commitment to your privacy, we have prepared this statement disclosing the privacy practices for the Sites. This statement describes what personally identifiable information ("PII") we collect from you, how and when information is used, how we protect your information and who has access to your information.
  1. THE INFORMATION COLLECTED. The Group asks you to provide various types of PII to enhance the quality of the service we can provide to you. As part of the process of using the Sites, the Group asks for information such as your name, e-mail address, and summary case details. The more accurate the information you provide, the better we are able to customise your experience and match you to a solicitor who can assist you with your legal matter. Following the use of our service we may ask you for other information, such as completion of a customer satisfaction survey. Whenever you provide PII to us we will comply with our privacy policy. As with the vast majority of web servers, our server automatically creates log files for each visitor who accesses the Sites (the "Access Logs"). The Access Logs allow us to make the Sites more useful to our visitors. The Access Logs do not record a visitor's name, address, phone number or any other PII. However, the Access Logs may contain some or all of the following information:
    1. the date of the visit;
    2. the time and length of the visit;
    3. the path taken through the Sites;
    4. the browser being used;
    5. a list of files downloaded or viewed;
    6. the Internet Protocol Address (the "IP Address") of the machine accessing the Sites; and/or
    7. any errors encountered.

The Group uses this information to aid the technical administration of the Sites and to better understand how the Sites are functioning for our users.
  1. HOW AND WHEN INFORMATION IS USED. The Group’s primary goal in collecting PII is to provide the user with a high quality service. This PII is collected via the form(s) completed on the Sites. In addition, our Access Logs collect non-PII, such as which pages each user visits and the domain name of visitors. This information is used, for example, to help us identify which areas of the Sites are of interest to our visitors. The Group also collects the IP Addresses of its visitors for the purposes of system administration.
  2. ACCESS TO THE INFORMATION. Except as described below, the Group will not disclose any PII about its users to any third party without first receiving that user's permission. The Company may disclose PII when we believe in good faith that the law requires it or to protect the rights or property of the Group. When you are using the Sites and are asked for personal information, you share that information with the Group who in turn shares that information with solicitors who the Group is contacting on your behalf to qualify the solicitors' suitability for your case. You should understand that these solicitors might have separate privacy and data collection practices. The Group has no control over and accepts no liability for these independent practices. In order to understand the individual privacy policies that each solicitor follows, you should ask him or her for a copy of the privacy policy or visit their website.
  3. PROTECTING YOUR INFORMATION. The privacy and protection of your PII is important to us. Any user statistics that we may provide to prospective partners regarding your usage of the Sites are provided in the aggregate only and do not include any PII. No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As such, despite our efforts to protect your PII, the Group cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, or to or from our online products or services. You transmit all such information at your own risk. However, once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. So as to enhance the security of your data, we have in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online. However, as effective as these measures are, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our database, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the internet.
  4. ACCEPTANCE OF PRIVACY POLICY. Your use of the Sites, including any dispute concerning privacy, is subject to this privacy policy and the Terms and Conditions. BY USING THE SITES, YOU ARE ACCEPTING THE PRACTICES SET OUT IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS. We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time by posting the changes on this page. Your continued use of any portion of the Sites following posting of the updated privacy statement will constitute your acceptance of the changes.
